In today’s digital-driven society, the world of advertising is constantly evolving. In order to ensure you’ running the most effective marketing campaigns possible, I need to stay up-to-date on the current trends. One way I enjoy doing this is through idea exchanges with my peers. During a recent conversation, I was surprised to hear their perspectives on email marketing and its potential to generate revenue. One of them said “I hate getting emails from companies. I assume my target market would feel the same. I would never conduct a marketing campaign.” I was astonished to see a majority of the group nodded their head in agreement. I’m here today to set the record straight. Numbers don’t lie, and the statistics prove that email marketing campaigns are an excellent way to meaningfully reach customers, generate revenue and increase web traffic. Here are 10 statistics to back this up:
What this means for you: If you know even the bare minimum about running a business, you probably have an email list sitting around somewhere. Did you know that that email list was basically a money tree? Water that thing and let the dollar-harvesting season begin!
What this means for you: This isn’t Applebee’s. That ‘water’ for your money tree isn’t free. Before you send out the perfect email to that list you’ve had sitting around, you need to spend some time making it, and some money on an email service to send it out. We get it that you want to make sure this whole emailing thing is a proven method before you spend that money and effort. Luckily for you, it’s not just us that will tell you it works! 64 out of every 100 business owners are going to tell you the same thing. It’s time you join them in their success!
What this means for you: Do you KNOW how many different revenue-generating channels there are? You have websites, social media, print advertisements, audio, and visual media just to name a few. Out of everything, email marketing is the MOST EFFECTIVE according to OVER HALF of B2B marketers. Who are we to argue with that many people?

What this means for you: There are people out there who want the exact product you are selling. They simply just don’t know who they are going to buy it from, or when they are going to make the purchase. So, TELL THEM. Put it right in their inbox; let them know it’s time to make that purchase and you’re the one they should buy it from.

What this means for you: You created this business. Everyone knows that more than 50% of business fail in the first year, but you believed in yourself. You believe in what you’re selling. If your product or service is so great, then let the world know about it! Or better yet, let your customers do that work for you and let them share your business with the world. Try giving them the platform they need to spread the news by sending them an email that they can share on social media.

What this means for you: Any business owner will tell you, there are few things on this earth more satisfying than a loyal customer. Earn that satisfaction! 80% of retail professionals are telling you email marketing is the way to get this loyalty; start typing!

What this means for you: This one is pretty self-explanatory here. Give the people what they want!
What this means for you: You’ve already learned that with email marketing, for every $1 you spend- you’re going to get an estimated $38 back, you’re more likely to get customer retention, and you’re more likely to reach more people through social media. Now on top of that, you can do this WEEKLY. Email marketing truly is a money tree.
What this means for you: With 2 billion emails being sent every day, it’s not far-fetched that your competitors are headed straight for your target market’s inbox. Beat them there!
What this means for you: You have billions of people just waiting for emails. That number is predicted to grow, so getting into the email marketing game now will help you immediately AND in the long run.
You Deserve to Sleep Well at Night All of these facts are only true if your email is effective.
- Are you saying the right things?
- Are you saying them in a way that customers respond to?
- Are you sending your emails at the right time?
- Does your email stand out from your competitors’?
